Meet the Happy behind Happy Farmer, Justin Baldwin, President, and the farmer, Tom Lamb, Head Grower. Founded by two Jersey guys with a deep love for the plant, Happy Farmer is built on a deep belief in hands-on care. We caught up with Justin to talk about Happy Farmer’s passion for growing quality bud and why they’ll always be part of the craft market.
More Than a Plant
For Justin, “Cannabis helps regulate me. It helps bring me back down to a normal, palpable level and never hampered my ability…If anything, it made me a better, stronger, more relaxed and even-keeled employee.”
But beyond his own experience, he’s seen firsthand how cannabis can be a lifeline. “My cousin of same age die of brain cancer and the only thing that gave her any kind of solace or peace was a vape pen. The ability to hit it and get a little bit of hunger and energy.”
On A Mission To Grow The Best Bud
For Justin, clean cultivation isn’t just a choice. With a daughter battling leukemia, he became hyper-aware of the chemicals hidden in everyday products. That same vigilance extends to Happy Farmer, where every decision—from soil to packaging—is made with health and sustainability in mind. “I have to make decisions that are best for my health and my family’s health. If they ever get to the point where they’re 21-plus and they want to consume, I want them to know that I’ve been socially responsible and done it the right way,” Justin says.
“We’re not going to grow anything we wouldn’t smoke ourselves,” Justin says.
Every bud is hand-trimmed, hand-bagged, and personally inspected by the team. They keep things organic and sustainable, using well water instead of city water, recycling clean water back into a holding pond, and cutting down on waste by composting plant material and reusing everything from cocoa to mesh bags.
