Meet Jersey Clouds
Since long before launching Jersey Clouds, the Payack family has been patient-focused, and on a mission to create a cleaner, more effective cannabis experience. After years of perfecting their patented extraction method in Colorado, Vermont and NJ—specifically at Breakwater Alternative Treatment Center (ATC), they’ve finally brought their full-spectrum extracts to NJ’s adult-use market.
We had the chance to sit down with Jersey Clouds’ owner, Paige Payack, to talk about how she and her family members, Joe and AJ, built Jersey Clouds from the ground up and why their extraction process is unlike anything else on the market.
A Patient-First Approach
As Central Jersey natives now living in South Jersey, the Payacks always knew they wanted to return and, in their words, “provide safe and natural options to the NJ cannabis community.” But getting here wasn’t easy.
In 2013, they set out to develop something that didn’t exist yet—a cleaner, more effective extraction method that would put patients first while honoring the plant’s natural properties. With over 25 years in Big Pharma, Joe had seen the flaws in traditional extraction firsthand. Determined to find a better way, he began experimenting in Colorado in 2015, eventually patenting a cleaner, ethanol/water-based extraction method.
While refining their process, Joe also played a pivotal role in shaping NJ’s medical cannabis industry. “Joe was actually the first head chemist at Breakwater,” Paige tells us. “He wrote the application and worked closely with state regulators to secure the second medical cannabis manufacturing license in NJ. After implementing his patented process and training the staff, we knew it was time to venture out on our own.”
But with NJ still operating as a medical-only market, they had to pivot. Instead of waiting for regulations to change, they took their expertise to Vermont, where they refined their process and even became USDA Certified Organic hemp manufacturers. Finally, after a grueling three-year journey to obtain a license (while paying rent), the Payacks were ecstatic to finally bring their extract to NJ adult use market!
One-Of-A-Kind Extracts 🧪
“We believe we have the finest, most natural concentrate available anywhere.” said Paige.
Unlike conventional methods, their patented process carefully preserves the plant’s integrity, selectively pulling cannabinoids and terpenes while leaving behind waxes and chlorophyll. This means no need for winterization—a slow and wasteful process that not only purifies oils but also strips away beneficial compounds.
According to Paige, “[Their extract] is the most natural product on the market, nothing is added or removed.” The result? A beautiful burgundy full spectrum extract, what they call “refined RSO.”
