Introducing North Lake Supply, your trusted friends-and-family-owned cultivator and manufacturer up in Sussex County, and one of the only growers in the state experimenting with sun-grown cultivation. North Lake is all about reconnecting around the plant like the good old days—no worries, just chilling round the campfire, toking some fire weed and maybe cracking open a cold one. Led by veteran and founder Alex Keynshvag, owned by his mom, Ina Kirikova and co-founded by VP of Sales Dan Saita, we met up with them about their friends and family operation and how they’re gearing up to launch their sun-grown flower pre-rolls this week!
☀️ From Family Flowers to Sun-Grown Flower ☀️
North Lake Supply was fortunate to acquire a 42,000 square foot family greenhouse and processing barn from Charmaine Van Wingerden, the current North Lake property owner and board member, who ran Augusta Hill Farms, a local flower nursery, for over 25 years.
According to Alex, transforming the farm into a cannabis grow wasn’t too tough, but there were a some challenges, “we truly worked with what we had…we have very high humidity as opposed to California. So we instantly started looking for strains and genetics that are going to be really friendly with our environment.” They teamed up with top California breeders Humboldt Seed Company and Ladybug Farms to get the best of the best. To handle the humidity, they use massive fans that shift air from the facility in 30 seconds. This setup lets them grow with natural sunlight, a rarity in New Jersey. “We are very much full believers that indoor is a dinosaur…we firmly believe you can create the same exact cannabis, if not better, in a controlled environment greenhouse.” explains Alex.

Launching This Week at Pure Blossom and Beyond
We’re stoked to be one of the first dispensaries for North Lake Supply’s launch this week! According to Dan, it’s “less about the location, and more about the relationships we’ve made thus far. It’s flattering to hear from people who are eager and excited to work with us and support our brand.” **Get ready and start looking for your lighters now. The two-pack pre-rolls will be available in Pound Town and Emerald Fire OG and will be followed by a 10-pack of 0.7-gram joints coming very soon!
Looking ahead, North Lake is gearing up to drop sun-grown flower this fall and roll out infused pre-rolls, live resin concentrates, disposable vapes, and cartridges by the end of this year. Beside product launches, “[we] 100% want to lean into Pennsylvania once we get our feet planted in New Jersey. There’s still a lot of work to do in New Jersey, but our next phase would be Pennsylvania. Maybe Connecticut and New York eventually and even have the tri-state as a national brand.”

“We’re a group of weed lovers…most of us grew up together since middle school and diapers…It’s been a pretty tight-knit group, which is really nice because it allows us to call each other out when we need to and keep it real.” shared Alex ****“This all really goes back to all the homies hanging out by North Lake and riding our bikes down there every night, smoking weed by the basketball courts and the lake.”
Dan added, “we get to do what we love every day—run a weed business.”
Advocates for Veterans
As a combat medic for five years, Alex witnessed firsthand the challenges many veterans face upon returning home. He stressed the harsh reality of veteran suicide rates, sharing his personal experiences. “I probably know more people who have committed suicide, unfortunately, than the average person,” Alex revealed. “I’m a strong advocate for veterans, hoping for a day when the VA becomes more accepting and encourages open discussion. Many veterans hide their cannabis use from doctors for fear of losing insurance and support.”
